1. Revival With all the Bible study aids, why are we in trouble? Rev. Begg examines what it means to humbly accept the word of God planted in us. How do we receive the word in our life? "Spiritual progress is directly related to the proper reception of the seed of God's word in the soul of the believer." Our effectiveness and growth is related to how we receive the word in our souls. Preached on February 3rd 1988
2. Obtaining Security We look at God's Pattern and Power for security and then our resultant Praise. God gives grace and provides restoration after suffering. God has power to carry the entire world - surely he will carry you. DATE: November 8, 1991
3. Confronting Our World We see pictures of the Church confronting the world. We see God moving in the lives of those outside the Church and how we should confront them. Alistair takes this story in the life of Paul and helps us better understand our impact on those outside the Church. "The people to whom we preach will in a moment go from dancing to judgment." Preached at a Pastor's conference on May 26 1993.
4. Ropes and Rags: Boldness and Gentleness Ebed of Melech is used as a Christian's example of boldness and gentleness when he saved Jeremiah from death in a pit. We are challenged to be courageous when necessary using realistic Holy boldness. But we must combine firmness with compassion, truth with grace, just as grace was applied to the law.
5. Confused Culture - Compromised Church This message deals with the homosexuality debate and how the Church should respond. We need to understand our identity as a church to determine a strategy in living for Christ. We are strangers - aliens. He brings scripture to bear on this issue with 3 statements and a question. This message deals with 2 statements. "Compromised church cannot speak to a confused culture." "The church must be the church... not politician or psychologist, etc." "We are called to be the Church even if the world falls apart around us."
6. Discarding Anxiety We look at God's Pattern and Power for security and then our resultant Praise. God gives grace and provides restoration after suffering. God has power to carry the entire world - surely he will carry you.
7. Dealing With Adversary "Live as children of the Light." Know your adversary. We have been radically changed - our Father is now in heaven, we no longer are a subject to the father of lies. The world is carrying out an agenda of darkness. We are transformed - we are now at war. Resist. Learn and live the Word of God.
8. Look, Listen Learn From Prayer Looks closely at five words in Christ's prayer. 1) Look at the distressed Christ, 2) Listen to His humble honesty, 3) Learn from His humanity. We learn God does the work, to be real, when we are overwhelmed Christ understands, we don't get everything we want. Pray Kingdom prayers - directed to God and His will, earthly things don't matter.

10. The Bible Is Clear Reviews that he will take scripture to bear on the issue of homosexuality with 3 statements and a question. Today's statement - "the Bible is clear." If clearly states God's position on homosexuality and sexual sin. The Bible affirms that it is wrong and sinful. Today's homosexual is admitting he/she made a choice. However, the grace of God cleanses and changes.
11. Am I Committed Enough "Is the Christian Committed enough to meet this supreme challenge?" Am I committed - ME? We must 1) care deeply - love in action. 2) speak honestly - no hopeless speech, sinful patterns CAN change. 3) live differently - by the spirit to show the way to holiness in Christ. 12. 14. Galen Call - The Rapture This is the ending age. Perilous times are to come. The rapture is "the next event on God's calendar." He tells what the end times will be like. CLOSE: "The bride is waiting and waiting for us."
14. George Verwer - A Life Of Prayer Acts 12, 13, especially 12:5 George Verwer, drawing from his years of experience evangelizing people around the world, presented the topic of prayer from the perspective by which it pertained to his ministry. Beginning with examples from Acts 12 and 13, he established the importance of groups of believers gathering together to pray, and went on to encourage listeners to get involved in a dynamic, spirit-led, weekly prayer meeting with other believers to get in the habit of practicing prayer. The only thing he said he wanted in his life was to know how to pray, and it was life experience that he went back to for his illustrations. Believing very strongly that God works the most when it is through prayer, Verwer encouraged believers to be Holy Ghost marathon runners who are born praying and die praying. He brought into the picture the concept of spiritual warfare in relation to taking the Gospel to other parts of the world, and enforced the idea that prayer should be a primary weapon in that warfare. Lastly, Verwer looked at the passage of Revelation 3:15-19, and addressed the issue of a lack of prayer in relation to a lukewarm heart. He gave numerous signs for a believer to notice he is becoming lukewarm, including prayerlessness, wrong attitudes, a lack of love for both the lost and the people of God, lack of forgiveness, and others. To break away from a lukewarm life, he said the greatest cure is a constant filling of the Holy Spirit, with the application being that prayer was the source by which that Spirit-filling would come.
15 George Verwer - Taking Action Most comments are specifically aimed at students but applies to all listeners. He extends the challenge to everyone, laying out principles for reaching the world for Christ.
16. Book Reading - The Revolution of Love (reading) by George Verwer Scripture(s): Galatians 5:22-26 Description: There is, I believe, a basic ingredient which is largely lacking in Christianity today, and the lack of it is the source of most of our problems. It is the cancer which is eating away at the church, but it is no secret. In fact, it is so non-secretive that it is written on almost every page of the New Testament. And yet, because the heart of man is deceitful and desperately wicked, and because we are so bent on our own way, we do not see (or seeing we do not believe) that the basic message of the New Testament is LOVE!

20. Bruce Wilkenson - Life That God Rewards 21. Bruce Wilkenson - A Whipping, or a Clipping? How should we look at Christ at the cross? Was He buried under, "whipped" as it were? We are reminded again that He was only clipped, slightly injured, but not whipped. We have a God who wins.

31. Ravi Zacharias - Test For The Soul The world's hunger for truth cannot be solved with simplistic answers, but with the words in scripture from the author of the truth Himself. He ends with a prayer we should all pray 32. Ravi Zacharias - God and Remembrance: The Intangible Embodiment of Memory From the story of the twelve memorial stones erected upon the crossing of the Jordan recorded in Joshua chapter four, Ravi Zacharias developed the importance of memory in the work of God. It is vitally important that we understand how God works through memory in the midst of a nation that intentionally removes reminders of Christian heritage, Zacharias said. Zacharias listed four stages of how God works in memory. First he spoke of two inestimable, invaluable realities from the book of Joshua. It is critical to have the right leadership, and it is just as important to have people who know how to follow and how to support. Next, Zacharias stressed the importance of physical reminders of what God has done. These reminders include the minute physically of memory evident in the DNA that records everyone's history, that links us to humanity and from which we must be born again to get new spiritual DNA. Beyond the physical reminders God has left, he wants us to create physical reminders to remind us of the work he has done for and in us. Lastly Zacharias spoke about the need to transmit memory, the need to teach children stories from the Bible and church history that tell them of the saints who have gone before. This history shows us that many things are only explainable because of God and not because of ourselves. It also shows us that God is able to bring us to the place of his choosing despite our actions or willingness. when you remember rightly, things will be right, Zacharias concluded. 33. 42. John Stott - New Relationships -1977 Dr. Stott sums up his series in Ephesians by explaining new relationships. He looks at harmony in the home and stability in the fight. Three relationships are looked at - husbands and wives, parents and children and employer and employee. Submission is the key to harmony in these critical relationships. Concerning stability, we must posses the armor of God and prayer to resist the devil. 43. John Stott - Purity In The Church - 1977 Dr. Stott tests todays church in comparison with the early church in three ways - doctrinal, practical and additional thoughts. He focuses on the difference that comes about after one is saved, how a believer must be pure as well as many other key thoughts on developing a Christ-like body of believers.
