Psalm 18:2 "The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower."

1. The Lord is a powerful deliverer. “my God, my strength, in whom I will trust” David put complete confidence in that strength

2. The Lord is a perfect deliverer. In v. 2 alone David uses 7 metaphors to describe our Lord. This is no accident as 7 is the biblical number for perfection.

3. The Lord is a personal deliverer. 8 times David uses the personal pronoun “my” to remind us of a wonderful truth, God knows us personally! He knows our every need, our every circumstance and our every problem better than we do. Even better, He has the solution!

How Best to Live in Peace
“Nevertheless, let every one of your in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.”---Ephe. 5:33
Rev. Johnson, a missionary to African in the 19th century recorded the following incident in his journal.
“In visiting a sick communicant, his wife, who was formerly in our school, was present. I asked several questions, viz, if they prayed together, read a part of the Scriptures (the woman can read), constantly attended public worship, and lived in peace=2 0with their neighbors. All these questions were answered in the affirmative. I then asked if they lived in peace together. The man answered, ‘Sometimes I say a word my wife no like, or my wife talk or do what I no like; but when we want to quarrel, we shake hands together, shut the door, and go to prayer; and so we get peace again” This method of keeping peace quite delighted me.” Cheever’s Anecdotes. (possibly a good policy to resolve disputes in the church?)
