Text: Three Safeguards to keep you from Falling.
Scripture, (Psa. 17:5) Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.
Introduction, The path can be slippery, We can slide back, and down. The
Words of Asaph, (Psa. 73: 2) As for me my feet were almost gone: my steps
Had well nigh slipped. In the physical world there are safeguards to keep
Us from falling. There are rails on our stairs, around our bathtubs, For
The physically impaired, walkers and crutches. These are safeguards to
Keep you from falling. Spiritually we are walking in a slippery world, and
We are handicapped by this nature to sin. But God has given safeguards.

1. SCRIPTURES:
(Psa. 17:4) by the words of thy lips, I have kept me from the path of the
destroyer.
Often I have seen signs marking those place where one might slip and
Fall, Slippery when wet, Watch your step. The Bible signs warn us of
Dangerous places. Time would not permit me to read them all but just
Five of them .
1. Elevation , (1Cor.10: 12) Wherefore let him that thinketh he
standeth take heed lest he fall. (most dangerous time was after wins)
2. Isolation, (Ecc.4: 10) woe to him that is alone when he falls.
3. Examination, (Psa.26: 1) Judge me O Lord: therefore I shall not slide
4. Meditation, (Psa.37: 31) The law of God is in his heart, none of his
steps shall slide.
5. Location, (Hos.4;15) Come not ye unto Gilgal, neither go ye up to
Beth-aven.(16) For Israel slideth back as a backsliding heifer.

2. SPIRIT:
A long with the gift of salvation comes also the gift of the spirit, (Acts
2:38) Ye shall receive the gift of the Holy ghost. And what a wonderful
gift it is! It is a built in safeguard to keep you from falling. Its like
the breaker in the fuse box, Light on the dash board, buglar alarm
in your home. How does he do it?
1. He guides us, (Jn.16:13) Howbeit when he the Spirit of truth is come,
he will guide you. (it is usually little things that trip us up)
2. He makes us guilty, (Jn.16:8) When he is come he will reprove.
3. He gives us strength, (Eph.3: 16) Strengthened by his Spirit.

3. SOVEREIGNS CORRECTION:
(Jude 1:24) Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling. One of
the ways is though his corrections. It is a build in safeguard, its included
in you contract, (Psa. 89:30) If (my) his children forsake my law,(32)
then I will visit with the rod and their iniquity with stripes.
1. Storms may come, (Jo.1:4) The Lord sent out a great wind.
2. Success may stop, (Jn.21:3) and that night they caught nothing.
3. Straight paths must be sought, (Heb. 12: 13) make straight paths for
your feet,lest that which is lame be turned out of the way.
4. Sovereigns correction proves three things, His Lordship, Love, and you
are a Legitimate child of God. ( Heb.12: 6-10)
