Text: Isaiah's Christmas Prophecy
Scripture, (Isa.9: 6-7)
Introduction, Isaiah is said to be the Prophet of Redemption!
Because His book has in
Distant view the Redeemer,In the 52nd and 53rd chapters we find
no clearer picture of
The suffering Messiah anywhere in the Old Testament! But not only
did he see though
The prophetic telescope of time the Bleeding back of the Redeemer,
and His Burial that
Was made with the wicked and the rich, But before all of that
he utters here in this ninth
Chapter His Christmas Prophecy of the Redeemers Birth!!
(1) THE DOCTRINE OF THE CHRISTMAS PROPHECY:
(Isa.9: 6)For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given.
It is this type of
Wording that assures me the Bible is indeed the Word of God!!
For only God
Would know and think to show the dual nature of Christ.
a. The Explanation of this text, (Child is born, Son is given)
b. The Encouragement of this text, (He has been here)
c. The Example of this text, (seen in the New Testament) (Mt.17.
Paying taxes)
(Lk.8. Sleeping in a ship) (Jn.11. Weeping at Tomb) But! (Miracle
to find the
Money)(Command the storm)(Raise the dead)
(2) THE DEMOTION OF THE CHRISTMAS PROPHESY:
(Isa.9: 6) A child is born. Truly this was a humble step downward!!
For He who
Was no less God to become no more than man!! For the Creator to
be held by the
Created ! He who owns the Cattle on a thousand Hills, to Nurse
at his Mothers
Breast!
a. He that was High, Came Low, (Phil.2: 7-8) who being in the
form of God.
b. He that was Rich, became poor, (2Cor.8: 9) For ye know the
grace of our
c. He that was Loved, became hated, (Jn.15:25) they hated me without
a cause
(3) THE DAY OF THE CHRISTMAS PROPHESY:
(Isa. 9:2) The people that walked in darkness have seen a great
light. Now
when I say the day of His birth I don't mean December 25th, or
any other such
date! But as to the time this prophecy was given was a dark time,
and when
Christ was born was a dark time.
a. Dark in that they has not heard from God, (Mal. 3:5-6) Behold
I will send
b. Dark in that it was the Days of Herod, (Mt.2:1) Now when Jesus
was born
c. Dark times doesn't stop Deity from working, (Psa.46:1) God
is our refuge
(4) THE DELIGHT OF THE CHRISTMAS PROPHESY:
(Isa.9:6) For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given.
Both of these
is a thing that brings great delight into a home. The floor where
the babies are
born is different from any other in the hospital!
a. Delight in that it was Price! (Is Given)
b. Delight in the Person! (Is Given to Us)
c. Delight in the Perfection, (2 Cor.9:15) thanks be unto God
(5) THE DUTY OF THE CHRISTMAS PROPHESY:
(Isa.9:6) Unto us, Unto us. Twice these words are spoken, God
left a baby
on the doorstep of this world. It demands duty that we receive
him into our
hearts. He is not a baby wanting a room at the Hotel anymore,
But a Son
a Savior wanting room in your Heart!! Hear, Repent, Believe, Ask
him in!
If you leave Him out now,He will cast you out then!
