Text: Packing For the New Year!
Scripture, (Exodus Chp.12:1-2,33-40)
Introduction, We read that this was the beginning of a new year
for the people, Of
Course the type is that of salvation, (1) Leaving Egypt, (2) Lamb
chosen, (3) Living
Behind the Blood, But I want to call you attention to the latter
verses where that
God is instructing them how to pack for the New year, and this
morning let us open
Our spiritual suit cases and ask the Lord to help us pack!
(1) THE LORD SAYS, NOW FOR SALVATION:
I would not want to journey into the unknown year, without this!
If you are
Saved you remember that year! Oh how dangerous to travel the road
of life
Without it! It would be like traveling without,
1. Insurance, (Rom.6:23) the wages of sin is death
2. Directions, (Psa.37:23) steps of good men are ordered by the
Lord
3. Reservation, (1Pet. 1:4) to and inheritance incorruptible and
undefiled
(2) THE LORD SAYS DAYS FOR SCRIPTURES:
We would not want to leave home without or leave for home without
it,
The years have not and will not wear out the Book, (Isa.40:8)(Mt.24:35)
Our forefathers have traveled with and passed it on to us.
1. Daily bread, (Matt.4:4) men shall not live by bread alone
2. Lamp, (Psa.119:105) thy word is a lamp unto my feet
3. Water, (Psa.119:9) wherewithal shall a young men cleanse his
way?
4. Mirror, (Pro.27:19) as in water face answereth to face.
5. Seed, (Psa.126:5) He that goeth forth weeping bearing precious
seed
6. Weapon, (Eph. 6:17) sword of the spirit
7. Policy, (Matt.4:4) it is written
(3) THE LORD WOULD SAY TIME FOR PRAYER:
The most important prayer of all is secret prayer, the time you
spend with
The Lord, Jesus was our example in prayer.
1. Build you up, (Jude 1:20) but ye beloved building up your most
2. Keep you from breaking down, (Phil 4:7) be careful for nothing
3. Fellowship, (Rev.3:20) Behold I stand at the door and knock
(4) THE LORD WOULD SAY MOMENTS FOR SOULWINNING:
I have heard some preacher preach against soul wining, but the
Bible
Says he that winneth souls is wise.
1. Testimony, (Jn.4:29) come see a man which told me all things
2. Praying , (Rom.10:1) Brethern my hearts desire and prayer
3. Going, (Psa.126:5) He that goeth forth,(Lk.14:23) Go out into
(5) THE LORD WOULD SAY HOPE, SECOND COMING:
The Lord may still come back this year, But if not we must keep
hope
For next year!
1. Let us keep looking, (Mk.13:35) watch ye therefore,for ye know
not
2. Let us keep living for the Lord, (Mt.24:46) Blessed is that
servant
3. Let us keep lively our hope, (2Pet.3:3) knowing this first
