The Great Christmas Mystery!
Scripture (1Tim.3:16)
Introduction, We have lived down to a time when every year Christmas
creates a great Controversy! Over the the things surrounding it,
Manger scenes, the words
Merry Christmas! Christmas trees! It certainly reveals the hatred
toward Him!
And how the world has not changed it attitude about Christ! But
it is true there
Is Mystery concerning Christmas! Things we cannot explain, only
believe!
(1) THERE IS THE MYSTERY OF HIS BIRTH:
(Isa.7: 14) Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign:
Behold a virgin
shall conceive, and bear a Son and shall call his name Immanuel.(1Tim.3:16)
God was manifested in the flesh. Now this is indeed a Mystery!!
(a) It was a Mystery Not Impossible (Mt.19:26) with God all things
(b) It was a Mystery Necessary, (Rom.5:12) wherefore by one man
(c) It was a Mystery Not Explainable, (1Tim.3:16) Great is the
mystery
(2) THERE IS THE MYSTERY OF HIS DEATH:
(Mt.2:21) And she shall bring forth a Son,and thou shalt call
his name Jesus:
for he shall save his people from their sins.(1Tim.3:16)Justified
in the spirit.
Now the purpose of this baby being born was not that we might
celebrate his
birth and have Christmas! But the purpose of His birth was that
he might die!
And that he might die For the sins of the world! The Word Vicarious
means-for
another, in their Place!
(a) It is a Mystery how he could be wounded for all, (Isa.53:5)
but he was

made

That he by the
Grace of God should taste death for every man.

(Lk.2:34)This child is set for the fall and rising again of many
in Israel.
(1Tim.3: 16) received up into glory. Though this child was born
to die, He
Died to rise again! After three days He arose this is a great
Mystery!
(a) But it is a Mystery must be believed, (Rom.10: 9) If we believed
(b) But it is a Mystery which without there is no hope, (1Cor.15:19)
if
In this life only we have hope in Christ we are of all men
(c . But is was a Mystery believed by disciples, (1Cor.15:6) after
he was
(4) THERE IS THE MYSTERY OF HIS SALVATION:
(Lk.2;11) For unto you is born this day in the city of David a
savior which
Is Christ the Lord.(1Tim.3:16)believed on in the world. Not only
was His
Birth a mystery, but so is the Child of God, You cannot explain
it!
(a) Jesus told this to Nicodemus, (Jn.3:8) the wind bloweth where
it
(b) Peter wrote this, (1Pet.1:8) Whom having not seen ye love:
(c) Many Lives prove this, (1Tim.1:13) who was before a blasphemer
