Heb.11: 7
Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
Fear =Noah moved with fear, not a fear of failure, not a fear of man (Proverbs 29:25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.) but a fear of God. Webster’s 1828 dictionary gives this definition of the fear of God; In good men, the fear of God is a holy awe or reverence of God and his laws, which springs from a just view and real love of the divine character, leading the subjects of it to hate and shun every thing that can offend such a holy being, and inclining them to aim at perfect obedience.
We live in a day when there is no fear of God. Shirts, caps, and car tags advertise no fear. It seems no one is concerned about what God thinks about a situation, their only concern seems to be about what somebody might think. Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. Noah had thought it out.
Action = Noah moved with fear. We are called to action. God told Noah what to do and he got busy. There is something wrong if there is no action in a Christian’s life. In some there is no church, no prayer life, no bible study it seems they have it in the head and not the heart. We are to be doers of the word James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. Faith has action.
Instruction = His instruction came from God. When to get on when to get off. He was told the exact size to build the ark. He was told the exact number and what kind of animals to put on the ark. In our day people want to change the message, they want to change what the bible says. If Noah had changed one measurement the ark would have sunk.
Testimony = by the which he condemned the world; Every person that lives for God has a testimony that condemns the world. When we stand for right they might curse us or call us goodie goodies but our testimony condemns them how we live condemns them. To live any other way destroys our fellowship with God. I don’t want to risk my relationship with God for any one.
Heir = One who is entitled to possess. In Scripture, saints are called heirs of the promise, heirs of righteousness, heirs of salvation, &c., by virtue of the death of Christ, or of God's gracious promises. We will poses the promise. A king’s son is heir to the throne.
Galatians 4:7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
