SO GREAT SALVATION
Hebrews 2:3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
Salvation is the greatest thing that can happen to anyone. A sinner unworthy, undeserving, vile, headed for a endless eternity in hell can be wonderfully saved is that not great. Sinners are still experiencing the miracle of salvation. The days of miracles are not over. The greatest of all miracles is the miracle of Salvation. Why is salvation the greatest miracle?
A. BECAUSE IT MEETS THE GREATEST NEED:
B. BECAUSE IT PRODUCES THE GREATEST RESULTS:
C. BECAUSE IT REQUIRES THE GREATEST PRICE: The Lamb of God.
Let’s open our Bibles to Mark 5 and read verses 25-34. This woman’s physical condition is a picture of a sinner’s spiritual condition.
I. HER CONDITION: v.25
A. The physical condition of this woman's diseased body portrays the spiritual condition of the sinner.
B. She faced the fate of physical death, the sinner faces spiritual death.
C. James 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
II. HER CONDEMNATION: v.26 " Grew worse "
A. She was condemned to die because of the disease. John 3:18 Condemned already
B. She had no remedy neither does the sinner.
C. She had no hope neither does the sinner.
Ephesians 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
D. She had spent all; the sinner must come empty handed.
E. She was condemned according to the law. Leviticus 15:25 And if a woman have an issue of her blood many days out of the time of her separation, or if it run beyond the time of her separation; all the days of the issue of her uncleanness shall be as the days of her separation: she shall be unclean. Any thing she touched was considered unclean; this cut her off from society.
III. HER CONFIDENCE: v.27
A. Her faith grew out of the message she heard. Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
B. Her faith was expressed in an act, She came to him. The sinner must come humbly to God.
IV. HER CURE: vss.28-29
* Straightway - means two things
A. CURED INSTANTLY:
B. CURED COMPLETELY:
Salvation is an instant and complete work of grace. Note she felt the change in her body. No way a person can be sick, and then well and not know it. Same with salvation, you can't get saved and not know it.
V. HER CONFESSION: v.33
Told the world what Jesus had done for her.
Conclusion: She came in a state of PERIL:
She experienced his POWER:
She went home in PEACE:_
