Ezekiel 22:30
Ezekiel 22:30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.
In Ezekiel’s day the people were in a state of moral decline. God sought for those in that day who would stand and found none. Not unlike our day, there are not many to stand today. It seems as if people can’t make a commitment to live for the Lord. Many put the world ahead of God. Elijah ask the question in 1 Kings 18:21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. Jesus said in Revelation 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. WE surly must take a stand for Christ in our day.
I. WE MUST TAKE A STAND "IN” CHRIST FOR REGENERATION:
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
How can a person be in Christ?
A. John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
1. Admit you are a SINNER. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Swallow your pride
2. Accept him as SAVIOR. Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
3. Acknowledge him as SAVIOR. Matthew 16:15-16 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
II. WE MUST TAKE A STAND "WITH" CHRIST FOR INDENTIFICATION:
A. Identify with the body of Christ: The CHURCH.
Some say, “I can live just as good a Christian life outside
the Church. If that were so why did Christ organize the Church?
You need the Church!!!
For SUPPORT, STRENGTH, SAFETY.
B. Many quit Church because of the mistakes and sins of others. Is it right to turn against all because of some?
1. Never go to the Doctor again, because some are quacks.
2. Never go to a garage again, because some will cheat you.
III. WE MUST TAKE A STAND "FOR" CHRIST FOR DEDICATION:
A. Are you sold out to God completely? At work, at school. Do we give our all, or just some halfhearted effort. Luke 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
