HOW TO GO FORWARD FOR GOD.
II Chronicles 7:12-14
Solomon has finished the House of the Lord. The prayer of dedication has been made, and the offerings have been given.
In verse 12 the Lord appears to Solomon and beings to speak.
I. A DIVINE PROCLAMATION:
2 Chronicles 7:12 And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice.
A. THE LORD'S APPEARANCE: v.12a Appeared - He shewed himself.
B. THE LORD'S ANSWER: v.12b A plain word, no misunderstanding
II. A DEFINITE PROBLEM:
2 Chronicles 7:13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain,
or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence
among my people;
A. THE CRISIS OF OUR COUNTRY:
Evil because of Immorality.
Evil because of Infidelity.
B. THE CONDITION OF OUR CHURCH'S:
We are:
Undressed for Battle,
Unconcerned for the Lost,
Unprepared for Christ Return.
C. THE COLDNESS OF THE CHRISTIAN:
We have lost our:
Testimony as a Saint,
Trust as a Servant,
Triumph as a Soldier.
III. A DELIGHTFUL PROPOSAL: v.14a
* If we accept God's proposal we must deal with:
A. OUR PRIDE: v.14b Humble themselves
B. OUR PRAYERLESSNESS: v.14c Pray
C. OUR PATHWAYS: v.14d Seek my Face
D. OUR POLLUTION: v.14e Turn from wicked ways
