GOD'S WAY OR YOUR WAY
Exodus 2:1-15
Many times we are guilty of running ahead of God, and doing things our way rather than his way. There is no doubt that Moses was the man that
God intended to use to deliver his people from Egypt. We see this when we consider:
A. THE PROVIDENCE OF GOD IN MOSES LIFE:
It was no accident that Moses had the parents he had. It was no accident he was born when he was. It was no accident that Pharaoh's daughter came to wash when she did.
B. THE PROTECTION OF GOD IN MOSES LIFE:
God saved him when Pharaoh was killing the Hebrew boys.
C. THE PRESENCE OF GOD IN MOSES LIFE:
From boyhood to man hood God was with Moses.
Moses like us ran ahead of God
I. HE TRIED TO DELIVER GOD'S PEOPLE WITHOUT
GOD'S TIMING:
Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
God does not always deliver you when you think you need him too.
God knows WHERE you are, WHAT you need, and WHEN you need it.
His people had to come to the place where they realized their total dependence on him.
Exodus 2:23 And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.
II. HE TRIED TO DELIVER GOD'S PEOPLE WITHOUT
GOD'S TOUCH:
1. The first time Moses in his own strength slew the Egyptian.
2. Anytime we do anything in our strength it will fail.
3. Now Moses is running from Egypt, for his life.
Exodus 3:11-12 And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt? And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.
I heard of a man who ask a pastor what made Dr. Lee Robertsons preaching so great? He said I have heard his sermons and they are very simple. The pastor replied its the touch of God on him. We all need that touch if we are to accomplish any thing for God. It seems like that is missing in so many ministries today.
III. HE TRIED TO DELIVER GOD'S PEOPLE WITHOUT
GOD'S TRUTH:
The first time he had no message from God, but now he goes in the might of God's word.
Exodus 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
In 2 Samuel 18 Ahimaaz wanted to run after Cushi but he had no message.
2 Samuel 18:22 Then said Ahimaaz the son of Zadok yet again to Joab, But howsoever, let me, I pray thee, also run after Cushi. And Joab said, Wherefore wilt thou run, my son, seeing that thou hast no tidings ready?
We must all know Gods time, have Gods touch and His truth as we live to please Him.
