WHY WE SHOULD NOT FEAR

Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Fear is a fact of life, we all fear something no matter how strong or tough we might be. It might be snakes or spiders or satan himself. Some people fear heights others tight spaces. This verse in Isaiah tells us not to fear. If you are saved this verse not only tells you not to fear but why we should not fear.

I. PERSONAL PRESENCE: v.10a for I am with thee

A. HE IS THERE FOR COMPANY: Some people are afraid of being alone. But with Christ were never alone.

B. HE IS THERE FOR COMFORT:

Psalms 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

C. HE IS THERE TO COMMAND:

He is our instructor. Some are afraid to step out to take the lead. He is there to lead all we have to do is follow.

II. PERSONAL POSSESSION: v.10b I am thy God

There's no god like my God. My God is God of every situation.

A. HE'S OMNISCIENCE: All knowing

B. HE'S OMNIPOTENT: All powerful

C. HE'S OMNIPRESENT: He’s everywhere Psalms 139:8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

III. PERSONAL PROMISE: v.10c I will strengthen thee

A. IN OUR WORK:

Acts 13:2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

B. IN OUR WALK: 1 Kings 19:8 And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God.

C. IN OUR WARFARE: 1 Samuel 2:10 The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: the LORD shall judge the ends of the earth; and he shall give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed.

IV. PERSONAL PROVISION: v.10d I will help thee

A. IN TIMES OF TROUBLE:

Psalms 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

B. IN TIMES OF TEMPTATION:

James 1:13-14 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

V. PERSONAL PROTECTION: v.10e I will uphold thee

A. FROM THE DEVICES OF SATAN:

2 Corinthians 2:11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

B. FROM THE DEGRADATION OF SIN:

James 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

C. FROM THE DEFILEMENT OF SELF: _Romans 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
