"For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's" (1 Cor. 6:20).
I. Purchased
Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
A. Man sinned. He fell from grace, losing his first estate. His disobedience and sin separated him from God.
B. Jesus Christ bled and died on the cross for all men. He thereby purchased us, bringing us back into fellowship with God (1 Thess. 5:9-10).
II. Pardoned
Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
A. Those who reject God cannot receive His forgiveness. Pardon is possible for all-the whosoever wills (See John 3:16).
B. Forgiveness awaits those who repent of their sins and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ (Eph. 1:7).
III. Purified
1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. A. Some fail to surrender all to God. They persist in having their own will, and fall short of being cleansed from all sin."
B. God wants first place in our life. We are sanctified through Christ's blood when we totally commit ourselves to Him (1Thess. 4:3).
IV. Preserved
1 Thessalonians 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
A. Many fail to accept Christ because they feel they are unable to live the Christian life. And that is true they cannot live the Christian life in their own power.
B. Christ helps and keeps us. When we are totally committed to Him, we are preserved (2 Tim. 1:12).
V. Productive
John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
A. Some want only to receive benefits from God. They fail in their Christian experience because they do not work for God by giving out to others.
B. We live productively when we serve in Gods house, help the needy, and witness to the unsaved (Luke 14:23).
